In most cases, it only takes minutes to arrange bail with River City Bail Bonds. We require some basic information to begin the process:
- Proper identification (social security number, date of birth, driver’s license number, address, phone number)
- Employment verification (employers name, address and phone, pay-stub or other verification of employment)
- Additional information necessary to determine if you qualify as an indemnitor (co-signer)
Bail FAQs
A bail bond essentially acts as an insurance policy whereby the bail bond company guarantees to the court that the person obtaining the bail bond will make all required appearances. If the individual appears in court as ordered, then the bail bond is never in jeopardy. However, if the individual fails to appear, the bail bond company is notified of this by the court. At that time, the bail bond company must surrender that individual back into custody. If the bail bond company fails to surrender that individual back into custody, then they are forced to pay the entire amount of the bail bond to the court.
The cost of bail bond is 10%; which again, is required by Texas State law. There are occasions, however, where we issue our customers a percentage of credit in an effort to work with them through their economic hardships.
If an individual misses court for any reason, you must contact us immediately. We have valuable information which, most of the time, will allow you to get your bail bond reinstated. It is our objective to keep you out of jail and on bail throughout your entire court proceedings.
Upon completion of your case, the judge will “exonerate” your bail bond in open court. At this point, bring us the documentation to show that the case is closed and the bail bond will no longer be active.
Once the bail bond is posted and accepted by a court or jail, liability is taken on by River City Bail Bonds. At that point the bail bond premium is fully earned and is not refundable.
The indemnitor (co-signer) is financially liable for the bail bond. The indemnitor’s liability is limited to the full face value of the bail bond. Note: It is very important the indemnitor feels confident the defendant will appear in all of his/he court appearances or posting a bail bond is not recommended.
